Grades 7 & 8, 2026 – 2027

As many of you have heard, Archbishop Coyne announced that the Sacrament of Confirmation will move from high school to 8th grade. This shift aligns with the Archdiocesan initiative to enhance our formation of Middle School youth. Our aim is to help students encounter Jesus in meaningful ways, engage more deeply in parish community, and deepen their faith during this important stage as they begin to make faith their own.  Over the next year, we will be in transition with our Confirmation program here at St. Margaret. This is what it will look like:

  • 8th graders will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Fall of 2027 (when they are 9th graders).
  • 7th graders will receive the Sacrament in the Spring of 2028 (when they are 8th graders).

Children will meet once a month on a Monday OR Tuesday evening from 6:30-8pm in the Church Hall or Parish Center.

  • Monday, August 31st, 6:00-7:30pm in the Church Hall. Come meet our NEW Shoreline Youth Coordinator, Oliver Shannon. He will minister to the youth of St. Margaret, St. George and St. John Bosco. We are excited to welcome him!  All parishioners are invited.
  • Monday, October 5th or Tuesday, October 6th, our first class meeting will involve a parent and their middle school student. This will include a candle lighting ceremony, an overview of the NEW program and refreshments.
