Program Overview
PLACE is a two-year Confirmation Program designed to help our students find their PLACE (Passionately Living As Catholics Everyday) with Christ and within the Church Community.
Through various learning opportunities, our young Parishioners will engage in activities that exemplify the life of active Catholics–living out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, participation in the Mass, partaking of the Sacraments, as well as growing in their faith formation. Our mission is to meet Confirmation candidates where they are in their faith formation journey and provide them with experiences that will allow them to move along in their faith journey, meet Jesus in their daily lives, and find their PLACE.
Our program this year consists of three components:
- Faith Experiences – required activities—including the Shroud of Turin Exhibit, Stations of the Cross, and other experiences—that each student will participate in with or without their parents. Faith Formation is a family affair and the events are opportunities for students, parents, and sponsors to learn more about the faith that they share.
- Workshops – students will customize their faith formation journey by selecting at least 4 interactive workshops (of more than a dozen) that will be presented throughout the year.
- Service projects – all students will spend a Saturday morning helping at Loaves and Fishes in New Haven and participate in at least one other service project during the year.
As in past years, communication with our students and families will be via email and this web site (under the News heading). When registering, please include student and parent emails that are checked often.
