Program for 1st-Year Students
We try our best to establish the calendar at the start of the year and not make any changes. Given the number of presenters involved with the program, there may be occasions when we have to make changes. If that becomes necessary, we will communicate via email and announce the changes on this website and on the Google calendar.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Expect your Confirmation ceremony to be at the end of April or early May. We will communicate the exact date via email when we know it.
Please remember to bring your journal and pen (distributed at Orientation) to each event and workshop.
All students and at least one parent (or sponsor) are to attend these events. They are part of the Confirmation program and not optional.
- Orientation – September 13 – 6:00 pm at St. Margaret Church.
- Candle Ceremony Mass – Select one date and time to attend in September.
- Retreat with Your Sponsor – Select one date and time to attend in January or February.
- Speaker: Veronica Sommer – Sacred Stewardship: Restoring Moral Clarity in the Digital Age – November 8 – 6:00 pm at St. Margaret Church.
- Speaker: Chris Stefanick – REBOOT! – January 13 at 7:00 pm at St. Margaret Church.
- Ash Wednesday Prayer Service – February 10 at 7:30 pm at St. Margaret Church.
- Teen Stations of the Cross – February 19 at 7:00 pm at St. Margaret Church.
All students are to attend these events. They are not optional.
- Why Be Confirmed in the Church Hall. Select one date to attend in September.
- At least four workshops to be completed by the end of February 2027.
- Heart-to-Heart with Jesus (Adoration/Holy Hour). Select one date out of seven.
- Loaves and Fishes and one Secondary Service Project.
Assignments due this year:
- My Sponsor Is… by December 1, 2027
- Sponsor Affirmation Form by December 1, 2027
- Confirmation/Saint Name by December 1, 2027
- Loaves and Fishes Reflection – one week after serving at Loaves and Fishes
