OCIA INVITATION

If you are looking to deepen your understanding of the Catholic Faith or have questions about how God and the sacraments of the Church can help enrich your journey in life, we invite you to join the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults offered at Saint Margaret’s Church. OCIA is a faith journey, a “process” giving you an opportunity to explore the teachings of the Church, to engage in conversations about how those teachings relate to your life, and to discover the different dimensions of growth in God, enriched through the warm parish community of Saint Margaret Church.

Participants in this process will meet with Saint Margaret’s “team OCIA,” Sandy Sessler, Mary McCarthy, Karen Macaluso, and Deacon Bob Macaluso, beginning on Wednesday, September 9 at 4:30 PM at our parish center, located at 39 Academy Street in Madison.

Our meetings will thereafter be held every Wednesday at the same time and place, through March 24, 2027, Wednesday of Holy Week. Four days later at the Easter Vigil, our parish will celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.  Then, to explore the “mystery” of those sacraments in our lives, we will get together on the following five Wednesdays, at the same time and place, from March 31 through April 28.

If you are interested in joining our OCIA process, please contact Deacon Bob Macaluso by email at Deacon@stmargaretchurch.com or by phone or text at 203.376.5747. Deacon Bob will fill you in on the first steps of our journey together.

WHO IS OCIA FOR:
Non-Catholics who want to find out more about the Catholic Faith, those who want to join the Catholic Faith through Baptism or Profession of Faith, those who were baptized Catholic as infants but never received religious education, Confirmation or First Eucharist. We are here to share with you our Catholic faith and our sacramental way of life by first asking you to meet with our Pastor, Father George Mukuka, who will review with you everything necessary to participate.

Father George can be reached by email at Pastor@stmargaretchurch.com.

Our doors are open wide to explore our faith with you and together respond to our Lord’s invitation: “Come, follow me.”
